Developed by the cooperation of ASELSAN and Roketsan, the HISAR-A + Low Altitude Air Defence Missile was successful in the final acceptance test before entering the inventory.
The HISAR-A + Low Altitude Air Defence Missile, developed by Roketsan within the scope of the Low Altitude Air Defence Missile System (AIHSS) Project, which was initiated by the Turkish Defence Industry Presidency and carried out under the main contractor of ASELSAN, was successful in the final acceptance test before entering the inventory. The HISAR-A + Missile fired from the AİHSS successfully destroyed the high-speed target from long range.
As it will be remembered; the HISAR-A and HISAR-O Missiles, developed to be used in the Low Altitude Air Defence Missile System and the Medium Altitude Air Defence Missile System, were updated as HISAR-A + and HISAR-O + to meet the needs of increased range and altitude limit.
The design and development activities of the Low Altitude Air Defence Missile System (AİHSFS) HİSAR-A were initiated due to decision number “287” made by the Defence Industry Executive Committee (SSİK) on 17.02.2006. In this context, the first Ballistic Test Missile firing was carried out in October 2013. Within the scope of the HİSAR-A Project, the contract price of which is 278.371.118₺ + 193.059.102 €, it is planned to supply 45 towed and 45 self-propelled systems.
The HİSAR-A Low Altitude Air Defence Missile to be used in the Low Altitude Air Defence Missile System was developed by the main contractor Roketsan. According to open-source information, HİSAR-A has 15 kilometers engagement range, 5 kilometers engagement altitude, high-explosive blast fragmentation warhead, terminal guidance with imaging infrared seeker, and dual pulse solid-propellant rocket engine.
