Developed by Baykar Defence, The Bayraktar TB2 Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) configuration which was equipped with the Satellite Communication (SATCOM) System has been viewed for the first time.
Baykar Defence and Baykar Defence Technical Manager Selçuk Bayraktar published a congratulatory message on social media about Azerbaijan’s Karabakh Victory. The messages showed the configuration of Bayraktar TB2 Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, equipped with the Satellite Communication (SATCOM) System, developed by Baykar Defence for the first time.
In Bayraktar TB2S UAVs, it was seen that a protrusion was created on the fuselage for satellite communication. Normally controlled by Datlink, Bayraktar TB2 UAVs had a control range of 150-300 kilometers. Thanks to Bayraktar TB2 UAVs with SATCOM integration, the disadvantage of control range will be eliminated. Bayraktar TB2 UAVs with SATCOM will be controlled through the TURKSAT satellite.
Bayraktar TB2 is actively used by Turkey, Libya, Qatar and Azerbaijan. It is known that the number of production of Bayraktar TB2 UAV exceeds 130.
