El Salvadoran President Nayip Bukele, who is in Turkey at the invitation of Turkish President Erdogan, has visited Turkish defence giant TUSAŞ. Bukele received information about TUSAŞ’s work in the field of satellites.
As part of President Bukele’s visit, a letter of intent for cooperation in the defence industry was signed the other day between the Turkish Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of El Salvador.
“We’ll talk with some companies tomorrow. Maybe El Salvador’s first satellite will be thanks to the Turkish technology. There is so much to do, so much to see. We discussed the procurement of UAVs and other equipment in the defense industry with President Erdogan,” Bukele said yesterday.
Bukele’s TUSAŞ Visit
Bukele visited the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) facilities today and got information about the works. Within the scope of Bukele’s visit, a cooperation agreement in the field of satellite was signed between TAI and El Salvador.
“We are proud to host the President of El Salvador, Mr. Nayib Bukele, at our facilities. Noting that we are ready to cooperate with our aviation and space capabilities, we have made a good start with our cooperation agreement in the field of satellites,” TUSAŞ CEO Temel Kotil noted.
TUSAŞ has significant capabilities in the field of satellites. GSATCOM, a company founded in Ankara in partnership with TUSAŞ and Argentina-based INVAP, will export HTS Communication Satellite technologies with High Output Power to Argentina.
