Turkish Aerospace exports ANKA-S to Tunisia

The first export customer of ANKA-S Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) developed by Turkish Aerospace is the Tunisian Air Force.

In line with the needs of the Tunisian Air Force Command, the Tunisian Ministry of Defence and Turkish Aerospace signed a contract for ANKA-S UAV procurement. Under the contract, three ANKA-S Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) and three Remote Pilot Station (RPS) will be delivered to the Tunisian Air Force at a cost of 80 million USD.

The first platform aircraft export, which took place during the period of Turkish Aerospace General Manager Temel Kotil, will be financed by Turkish EXIMBANK. With the fulfillment of the loan conditions given to Tunisia within the framework of the negotiations and the completion of the mutual obligations under the contract, the export program has started. Following the export agreement of approximately 80 million USD, fifty-two Tunisian pilots and maintenance personnel will be given the necessary training at Turkish Aerospace facilities in Ankara.

ANKA-S Unmanned Aerial Vehicle

ANKA-S Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, developed by Turkish Aerospace with national facilities, comes with real-time image intelligence for reconnaissance, surveillance, stationary/moving target detection, identification, and tracking purposes under day/night and bad weather conditions; and is equipped with payloads for target destruction tasks. ANKA-S UAV, which is in the inventory of the Turkish Armed Forces and Gendarmerie General Command, can stay in the air for 24 hours at an altitude of 30.000ft.

The system, which can be controlled from very long distances thanks to its satellite control (SATCOM) capability, is among the most strategic aircraft of Turkish security units.
