Turkish Defence Industry President Prof. Dr. İsmail DEMİR announced that defence exports worth of 150 million USD have been made to Tunisia.
President DEMİR made the following statement: “We held our Defence Industry Cooperation Meeting with Tunisia via videoconference. Our defence industry made significant exports to Tunisia in the last days of the year. Under the coordination of our agency, 5 of our companies signed export deals that is worth 150 million dollars in total. Turkish Aerospace’s ANKA-S UAVs, BMC’s Kirpi and Nurol Makina’s Ejder Yalçın armored vehicles, KATMERCILER’s various vehicles such as tankers and tank carriers, and ASELSAN’s electro-optical systems will be at the service of Tunisian security forces.”
ANKA-S Unmanned Aerial Vehicle
ANKA-S Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, developed by Turkish Aerospace with national facilities, comes with real-time image intelligence for reconnaissance, surveillance, stationary/moving target detection, identification, and tracking purposes under day/night and bad weather conditions; and is equipped with payloads for target destruction tasks. ANKA-S UAV, which is in the inventory of the Turkish Armed Forces and Gendarmerie General Command, can stay in the air for 24 hours at an altitude of 30.000ft.
The system, which can be controlled from very long distances thanks to its satellite control (SATCOM) capability, is among the most strategic aircraft of Turkish security units.
